What happened to Shia Labeoufs career??

I don't wanna debate his acting skills, but you can't front that from 2007 to 2011 this kid was having a great box office run, from Transformers and its sequels to Disturbia to Eagle Eye to Indiana Jones. It seemed like his career was doig nothing but growing. But suddenly it feels like he's gone from the spotlight for the last 2 years (which is a long time in Hollywood these days). Is it cause his off screen antics are making him poisonous ala the Mel Gibson Disease? Or are studios and audiences just sick of him and realized he didn't have much range? What's going on?

Yeah, he's pretty much doing indy movies now. He was the the co-lead in the movie "Lawless" that came out last August with Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, and etc.

He had just had a movie that came out last week called "The Company You Keep" where he co-stars with Robert Redford, Anna Kendrick, Terrence Howard & etc.

Yep. he said he wanted more creative freedom. dude is loaded he made 20 mil per flick. thats A list status within 5 years it usually takes people 20 yrs. i think at this point he just wants to go back to real acting and have fun.

As an artist myself i respect that.

He basically trashed Transformers 2 and Indiana Jones: KOTCS which Steven had a problem with.

"[Spielberg] told me there's a time to be a human being and have an opinion, and there's a time to sell cars," he said. "It brought me freedom, but it also killed my spirits because this was a dude I looked up to like a sensei."

So, basically Spielberg told him that he shouldn't have been honest about the fact that those movies were shyt. On another note, Harrison Ford also called Shia "a fukking idiot."

Dude kept it realer than most. He'll retreat from the spotlight for a few years making indy movies...but once they see that he's walking around like he don't need nobody they'll be begging for him to comeback and he'll have another run

That's just how it works. Once they see you have integrity and can't mold or break you they shower you with respect
