I dunno about outside of NYC, but when i was young Dr Jays was the go to place. Now that shyt is seen like a discount no-no place when it comes to sneakers. Ive heard from multiple people that it was a wrap once they started hiring employees, almost all say the africans that started working en mass there, who was switching out authentic stuff for counterfeit so everyone chilled out on dr jays. anyone know whats goody?:ohhh::jbhmm:

in high school it was dope.

i think what happened is black people just stopped fukkin with hip hop brands as much. there was a shift in music to big up designer shyt and look cleaner. there's a few marquee ones still...but its rare youll see a dude wearing 10Deep or anything even though they got some dope shyt.

i used to love LRG

when i was young, im around 30, Dr jays had dyme pieces working there, had the jordan drops on deck, tims on deck. it was first a shoe store, then a clothing store. now they sell alot of the urban underground shyt as its called by some. im justr curious if theres any truth to the rumors of the Africans switching shyt out:usure: one time i bought a pair of uptowns. i knew the size so i just asked for them and took em home. :manny: when i open thew box i had two different sizes:dwillhuh::martin: i was like wtf the sneakers didnt look worn at all, cardboard inside and all.:what:

whos singling them out? im telling you the rumors as is in New York City. not in toronto. Ask anyone my age who bought shoes at dr jays. before it was a fly dimes. all of a sudden there was a shift to mostly african employees. not saying anything wrong wit that but it was noticiable enough for me to remember and people to comment. and then the rumors came. so im asking if theres any truth to it, maybe someone knows something i dunno:manny:. i could give two fukks if it was africans or Ricans. still woudlve made the thread. and only crackheads wore that in nyc bro, just saying.:snoop:

Always wondered about dr jays and VIM, they used to be my main spots in downtown Brooklyn
'

VIM is another spot that went the same route. Anyone remember the dope 2 floor store they had in 34th street? now look at them. they fell the fukk off, same rumors. they never sold anything name brand outside of sneakers though least that i know of except coats and bookbags.
