1. I KNOW GTA WAS NOT THE FIRST SANDBOX GAME THAT LET YOU STEAL CARS ETC...

Now, for the topic, I think atleast 50% of people would agree San Andreas is the GOAT, but as far as having the best atmosphere i wouldnt really put it number 1. Maybe cuz when i first played it i never been anywhere outside of LA, never been north of pasadena, or east or south of Long Beach, so it was all i knew. When i played San andreas iit basically felt like what I already knew and used to.

But when i played Vice City :ahh: I really felt like i was in the 80s. The city, the cars, Wildstyle Pirate Radio :lawd:

I think True Crimes:NYC is VERY underrated, easily top 5.

I think GTA:SA probably had the best due to the variety of areas to explore.

You had countryside, city life and desert all in one game. Not only that you also had that Vegas life mixed with LA gang culture.

Yea, but the only place that really had any true atmosphere was Los Santos. The strip in San Andreas didnt really feel like the strip at all. I guess the countryside was good too plus they had good country music.
But obviously the game was centered around gang life in early 90s LA, so thats why the game blends more with Los Santos than it does Las Venturas or San Fierro.

San Andreas, but ridin around Vice City at night to the sounds of Fever 105 is a feeling I've longed to be replicated in a game setting since. That shyt used to soothe my soul brehs, cruisin the strip to the last :45 seconds of "Summer Madness." Damn, Ima have to pull out Vice City...
