What is it that draws money? Clearly long term storytelling. But we have some examples of long term storytelling that hit well and some that fall flat now a days.

What else helps draw ratings and gates anyone got any ideas?

Running places they usually don't to make those places feel like they have to show up. One to get them to come back, and two because they might not have another chance.

Manufacturing desperation. Because once the people are there, you don't even have to make a good show. They'll trick themselves into thinking they liked it because of the rarity and sunken cost fallacy. Eventually these companies won't even bother trying with the wrestling - it's all just commodification of hype generation. Make people think something matters, even if it don't.

That draws money.
