Does he still win championships? How differently is he viewed?
Bro is about to be on his 5th team next season and would be the 3rd in 5 years. How is dude a top 10-15 player all time and a journeyman
Did he really believe that the Thunder would have choose Westbrook over him? Because if the reasoning was that he no longer wanted to play with Russ then why not just have them ship him out?
And if moving to the Bay was really about business then why leave over hurt feelings?
It's been crazy watching KD's career play out these past couple years. He's a great player....but his status in the game has rapidly been shrinking to the point where he's becoming the forgotten one.
He goes to Steph's team and not only does Steph piggyback rings off him but he snatches his rank completely. No one would have KD over Steph in the all time rankings and he has nowhere near the status.
Jokic and Giannis have probably passed him up already too
I guess that's the gift and the curse of KD. He can shapeshift and fit into any system. But he can't be the fulcrum of a system the way a Bron, Jokic, Giannis and Steph can. And those guys tend to have players coming to them whereas KD has to move to his next destination like a nomad.
Been tough watching him be consistently great yet still slowly morphing into irrelevance. Makes me think if he made the wrong move leaving OKC. That was the one situation where it was truly his...molded in his likeness and he had a whole generation idolizing him.
He would have had a statue in OKC......now instead he'll have to watch Shai take that mantle.
A sad song
