Started watching these docs which provide a great breakdown of the issues faced by the Black community in the 70s and 80s.

1. Drugs
2. Femininism
3. Rappers…i added them base off the commercial aspects of white executives eliminating the public enemy, xclan, and other conscious rappers and pushing the negative stereotypes of blacks and focusing the music more of a fantasy than reality

Reagonomics, easy.

Destroyed the Middle Class. That regular job ain’t getting shyt done anymore. Can’t even do what you love for a living unless it’s something high-paying.

Massive tax cuts to the wealthy thinking they’ll trickle that back to the people was such a stupid thing to fall for. You can’t trust a greedy little crap.

Built more brown nosers and bootlickers is all it did. “Hey don’t insult the boss! Don’t you want a pat on the head?! :gladbron:

As of 2023, studies have not shown that there is a demonstrable link between reducing tax burdens on the upper end and economic growth.

40 years this “theory” has been wrecking us. At what point does this “theory” get marked as “incorrect”, we undo it and move on?

By the way, that graph doesn’t include Trump in 2016 and the damage that’s carried over into the 2020’s that we’re trying to fix. See how that looks.

We need to end it. A few people massively winning ain’t it.

The drug game changed folks mindset

The ability to get quick cash, the clothes, the cars, etc etc had brothers killing each other and black families to get cash

Then that whole mindset hit the sisters who was like :hhh: im not dating you , you working at that plant, you working at that store, meanwhile darnell driving around in a lexus, benz, etc getting money and boom here come single parents home, and nikkas going to jail

Then regan and the welfare system comes in and destroys the hood as well

And finally that whole feminism shyt white women pushed with the whole you don’t need a man, but when the white man said ok ill get a Asian Woman, white women quickly abandoned that shyt , however many of our sisters stuck with it

OVERALL THERES A WHOLE A LOT OF shyt THAT fukkED UP THE COMMUNITY

#BothSides have had an opportunity to fix this but #BothSides seem to believe in the policies to varying degrees because #BothSides are the ones primarily benefitting financially from it.

Drugs.
Four republican administrations and strategic political maneuvering to hollow civil rights gains by the end of the millennium.
Democrats blaming black people for their political losses. Jimmy Carter a good example.
Political symbolism misunderstood as progress.
Private sector funds being used to "fix" symptoms of institutional racism instead of legislative action.

White Citizens Counsels and government institutions harassing black elected officials, thus stunting their impact.
Monopolizing blackness as an American export in entertainment.
Feminism and the breakdown of the black family through divorce, drugs, and disrespect.

The lack of leaders in the black community outside of pre CRM institutions.
The ineffectiveness of the Congressional Black Caucus to empower black people.
Local dismantling of black grassroots organizations.

I got more, but I got things to do today.

Great points. Also I think Black men seeing their mothers, aunts and other relatives prostitute themselves during the crack epidemic impacted how many of them viewed BW as a whole and it’s reflected in a lot of rap music.
