I've been looking, and the numbers (performance and money) stack up way better than Apple. There are obviously XPS laptops from Dell (who owns AW) as well.

What's everyone thinking?

For one, you just compared some type of Apple computer to a gaming machine. For two, if you build your own computer you will come out way cheaper than an Alienware

What are you trying to get? A Laptop or a Desktop?

If its a desktop...build your own.

If its a laptop, get MSI

I've been keeping an eye out just to keep an eye out

I've had my MBPro 15 for almost 3 years now, and given the life cycle of most machines I know that I need to start at least looking around to get a grip on the market, prices, deals, etc.

I'm probably still 6mo-1yr from buying anything. Obviously Apple v other products is the first thing that caught my attention because I've had a MBPro for almost three years now, and I like it a lot. The problem is the price, obviously.

It would DEFINITELY be for a laptop though.

I recommend MSI for the most bang for your buck.

This, with Alienware you would be paying more for the color-changing paint job instead of performance.

My computer knowledge is :flabbynsick:

It's cool. Just trying to save you money.

If you don't know how to build a laptop/desktop, go to a local computer shop (lil mom & pop type place) and let them know you want the cheapest gaming machine they can build that will run newer games. If they say "what's newer games", I would say to base it off of Battlefield 3 multiplayer on high settings running at as close to 60fps as possible. I built my own gaming desktop last year and it ran me about $650.

Apple computers are not good for gaming. Honestly I don't think I've ever seen anyone try to use them as a gaming machine. Alienware is just a name with some sick ass designs, and way overpriced.
