Don't talk about price till after you test drove the car and the sales guy invested his time in the sale. Also go at the end of the month where they are just simply trying to meet unit goals and start giving away some of the cars.
My rule of thumb is knock off 3grand from used car prices at dealerships. Also check out the nada guide to see what the car your going for is going for at auction and make an offer about 1000 above that.
The Malibu is pretty nice. I have a Impala myself, but to me I would get the one that's the cheapest to own. You can make just about any car look nice to you. But yeah, get the cheapest to own because it's really a toss up.
