Their physical attributes are damn near identical

AB:

5'10 1/8th tall
181 lbs.
31" long arms
9" long hands
4.48 40 time

Santonio:

5'10 5/8ths tall
188 lbs.
32" long arms
9 5/8ths" long hands
4.35 40 time

They're both identical sizes, caught balls from the same QB their whole career, yet somehow AB has been the best receiver in the league for the past 5-6 seasons, while Santonio's shining moment was the Super Bowl, then he had a 1,000 yard season after that, then he got cashed out by the Jets and that was the end of his chapter:ohhh: Holmes physical profile blows AB out the water, or so you'd think

Brown is the better player despite being less athletic. Some guys just ball and of story. I once knew a former linemen who could dominate ANY position in a pick up or semi pro game.I'm talking qb, wr or Rb dude could play em all. Not the most in shape of athletic guy but he just knew and loved the game. Some guys just got more football skills. Look at larry Fitzgerald's career despite being classified as slow based on a 40 time...

Actually he had ward, plax was on the Giants by the time santonio got drafted

Anyways to answer the question, Holmes was a pretty clutch receiver for 2-3 seasons. He just faded out faster than most people expected cuz he couldn't get by on his speed after that freak injury against the 49ers. If the butt fumble doesn't sum up the 2012 Jets, that play definitely does

Hand eye coordination and hand strength. Most guys unless they burn the DB or there wide open they just average. You can blanket AB and if ben throws a good ball It's getting caught. That TD basket catch when he was on the left side on a full Sprint with his hands fully extended and running out of room in the end zone is what separates the Holmes from the ABs. Most guys lose focus when the DB extends their hands guys like AB and OBJ don't flinch.
