imo Bethesda is cooked

they're just stuck in 2011 and haven't grown or evolved since. they're going to continue to be left behind until they have a clean sweep of management and develop a new engine :snoop:

EA as a developer and publisher has fallen off a cliff. Medal of Honor is dead as an IP. Need for Speed been on a decline since around the Carbon era - I wanted Shift to be a strong side series but that died quick. The Sims is bland and only built as an expansion sustainment game. Battlefield :francis: . Frustrating as hell because my sole purpose in life for several years was to get a job at EA. They've systematically destroyed every good franchise they had going for them.

I want to say Bethesda, but if anything their most prevailing failure is a refusal to change from what worked at one point but no longer does. They're stuck in the past.

But personal opinion; I gotta go with Bioware.
From being the frontrunner of the entire genre of CRPG to seemingly go out of their way to stop making RPGs as soon as they got on... they're almost the opposite, and outright refuse to do the things from the past that people liked from them. It's like they were embarrassed to be seen as an RPG company and have spent every waking moment since the EA acquisition drifting further away from it.

Turning Battlefield 2042 into a CoD Warzone clone was the final straw for me

Bethesda, Starfield was a huge disappointment for me, and the game feeling so dated in its mechanics makes me feel that the old guard is just set in their way and there is no young decision makers behind these games, hopefully that changes for Elder Scrolls.
