Cruel Summer for me. Kanye dropped the ball on that one. It's not a bad album, but it had potential to be so much more.

Heaven on Earth
K.R.I.T., Curren$y and 2 Chainz..

Which seems to be perfect examples on how record labels don't know what they're doing... The stuff they put out on their own without the suits interference is far superior...

I just copped Stoned Immaculate and GFID this past week, and both are underwhelming to me. I feel like the albums are overproduced. It's almost like they're rappin over Love Boat night lounge music. There's a certain grittiness missing. When it's good, it's good, see Amsterdam, but much of the rest of both albums is largely forgettable. I'm a fan of both artists too, but neither one of these albums grabbed me by the throat.

Granted, I'm late and just now getting to listen to both projects and maybe they'll grow on me. On the other hand, Life Is Good was dope to me from the very first listen. A couple tracks grew on me, but all in all he dropped an undeniably cohesive hot album. I can't say the same for Spitta and Ricky and I'm a fan of both of those dudes.

Can't say I was expecting much from 2 Chainz album, I've never seen him as a guy that hold down a whole project. Dope guest verses, but not an album artist, IMO.

- DMX's new album. I went in with INSANELY low expectations, and was still underwhelmed.

- Prodigy's HNIC Pt. 3. Huge Prodigy fan, he has some good shyt when he first got out (I was one of the few feeling them Mobb joints, I guess), but his album was terry cloth. How you go into prison for 4 years and come out on some love joint shyt?

- KRS-One "The BDP Album". Just terrible, Kris. Hang it up.

- That De La Soul "First Serve" project. I dunno what the fukk they were thinking with this. De La's discography is (or was) damn near perfect to me before this.
