For me it would prolly be the character comes and saves another character in the midst of a fight.

not that im a fan of it, but i dont hate it either. i do find it to be a useful tool for quick at the moment suspense and to introduce a character.

one sided fights is another,

Like people bytched about this with DBZ. And i get some of the gripes people have with this

but cmon now, surely some people should understand that fights should be one sided. Its no different than reality if someone is stronger, faster, and a better fighter than yes the fight should be onesided. Why try to portray it like its fair when its clearly not:stopitslime:

Edit: I answered the reverse, oops :mjlol: I’ll leave it tho

The cliffhanger where they keep shyt a mystery, but show you that something clearly happened, especially as a season ender, i.e. Negan on TWD. That’s about when I finally had to check out, because to me it signifies you don’t have complete faith in the writing bringing viewers back, and I really like they were insulting the viewer’s intelligence.

Either show everything, and make us wait for the fallout (Infinity War), or make us wait to see if it’s really gonna happen (Alton on Snowfall)

unflawed main characters

its become so common to make charaters edgy/flawed or fukked up in some way that a superman type dude would actually be refreshing in 2021

girlfriend/wife dying or getting kidnapped

I understand why they don't wanna have females be helpless all the time but they went overboard imo now every woman in an action film gotta be some hardass who don't need no man. like in star wars how they had to go out of their way to show rey never needed to be saved despite having a character whose only single motivation was to save her. I feel like if dark knight were made today they wouldn't even have killed maggie gyllenhaal out of fear of getting thinkpiece'd to death on social media

this is something im starting to hate to

people need to really expand their knowledge on writing/storytelling if they think flawed characters = good characters

thats not what "good characters" let alone a good protagonist is. But alas, people are gonna people . And all they do is regurgitate what they saw another MF say :yeshrug:
