Another super strong episode for Lycoris Recoil, lets's see if they can nail the ending. Unless they pull off a ridiculous ass pull for Chisato I think the ending will be pretty solid.

Lycoris Recoil is one of those anime that at first glance doesn't look special. It doesn't tease you with high expectations, but somehow it

just kicks steady ass and every now and then it surprises you with how thorough they kick ass. That show really delivers.

Todays episode went hard as fukk.

Overall it'll prolly end up being better than Wonder Egg priority without having to wow you early on.

I mean it's a cute girls yuri bait show at its core. There's enough distractions that somebody not into one of those cute girls doing cute things shows could still watch this but in one of the episodes the main character runs around flipping up skirts to check other girls panties and they go panty shopping.

I'm actually surprised to see such a show get any discussion in this thread because it's not they typical style of show that gets traction here. This show has times where the tone is closer to New Game, Comic Girls, and K-On than than to say Noir.

Man looking back Wonder Egg had a free layup halfway through the season. They decided to take a flashy 3 pointer and completely botched it man.

Lycoris's focus on the characters themselves in a more SoL fashion for the 1st half of the season and then use that to escalate the action and drama in the 2nd half of the show has been done very well. Compared to lets say Engage Kiss which the drama aspect of the show is done very well as well. But unlike Lycoris which does the SoL aspect well. EK becomes horrible when it tries to be a rom-com instead of the action drama that it is good at.

Shows like Made in Abyss and Summer Time Render are definitely more plot centric and they deserve their praise. But Lycoris, Call of the Night and Ao Ashi are all shows this season where it starts slow but the build up on its characters makes it so when the plot heats up, these shows become great. (Still early for Call of the Night, but if S2 happens I feel like its gonna be crazy.)

It's hard to recommend shows around here because people here lack patience if the plot/action doesn't come initially. Easiest example being Golden Kamuy, I'm shocked it gets slept on really hard here. (Also I watch pretty much all genres, so I hesitate on recommendations for that reason as well)

It's much more action and drama oriented than those shows. While it starts off similar to those shows, yes, but after ep 6 it becomes action/drama focused. Similar to Wonder Egg CGDCT is more of a sub-focus instead of a main focus like those shows you mentioned or Akebi-chan from earlier this year.

I don't get the whole cute girl bait vibe. I feel like that's how it's presented, but they give you some gangsta shyt at the same time to balance it out. All that other shyt is just character development imo. I'm not one of those dudes opposed to seeing women/cute girls be killers or do action. Hell, I enjoyed Release the Spyce back in 2018 which had the same vibe.

The reason why a lot of shows take so long to catch on here is because ya'll always lead with the negatives. I like to lead with the positives when I discuss anime in here. Certain shyt I have to watch for myself, because when ya'll discuss shyt, ya'll don't mention the action elements or the dope shyt that real nikkas wanna see.

Imagine if all the nikkas hyping up Cyberpunk just focused on the music and animation, without even mentioning how violent and action packed it was. Half the nikkas in here wouldn't care about it.

I think only one cat even brought up Princess Principal when it dropped. I didn't check for it til a few months later. And you're right. Even when I saw how good it was and was pushing the show, I really was just like "Watch this show! It's great! "

Lot of us could be more descriptive as to why we enjoying a show so much that nobody else is watching.


I think the last show with this vibe that a bunch of us watched together (more or less) was SAO: Gun Gale. And we was hype as shyt every week.

Just finished watching the Rwby anime from this season. It was the definition of mid. Never bad, but never really interesting or invested in the main cast. Mostly caused by pacing issues with the recap for the first 3 episodes. Not familiar with the original, but I do feel their is some potential if they adapt more in anime form. But it is def a skip imo.

The real reason why most nikkas in here can't fukking describe an anime to save their life, is because they so quick to tell us to read the manga
nikkas legit act like they hate anime the way they describe certain shows so unless you ask the right people or check for yourself you might miss out.

Hell, I mentioned Bucchigire in here several times as being a dope samurai themed action anime, but that shyt still got overlooked.

That's why I try to go into details and hype up the positives when I talk about a show, cuz I love anime and want nikkas to enjoy that shyt as much as I do.
