I’m at the part where Ichigo’s training with the cat chick to fight Rukia’s brother.

Do y’all think Ichigo is too strong? He’s beating top dudes n shyt. I know he’s getting hurt, but he’s beaten everyone he went up against. If this was HXH they would run away from them nikkas and come back stronger. I wasn’t expecting Ichigo to be beatin all these dudes like this.

With a dragon ballz mindset, it makes total sense.
The sudden growth is part Ichigo character, though if Ichigo faced any other captain than kenpachi he dies.

Goku is a fairly decent comparison as @Renkz pointed out but he takes way more Ls than Goku ever does. Ichigo evolves during tough fights and he's got... other things at play that you'll find out about soon considering where you are.

It's primarily the shonen formula at work though, guy is overcoming due to innate talent and sheer will power.
