Back in my day (late 90's-early 00's) the dark skin brothas like me were getting play from all the redbones.
Nowadays, the trend is that everyone wants a soft, Chris Brown type of light skin nikka. Women aint checking for dark brothas like they use too. That includes the dark, chocolate ones (who seems to always go after the light bros
) to the light skin ones, who now just want a prettyboy nikka close to their skin tone. I blame the rise of Chris Brown and Drake for this phenomenon. This ain't the 90's no more.

breh you must live in some alternative reality. Dark skin men are the wave now, most of the top rappers are dark.
Lightskin/Mixed dudes like me have to have other things going strong for us like intelligence/singing/unique fashion sense/be pro-black, etc.
But dark skin dudes get the stereotype that they are dangerous, beasts in the bed and super masculine so they get black and white chicks all over them without effort.
I think you are too young to be in highschool in the late 90's when darkskin bros was in for the most part. Back then, all the women were shyttin on the lightbrights.
Now, partly thanks to Drake and Chris Brown, the redbones AND the dark-skins ones want a light brotha. Its a trend that has repeat itself, in the 80's light was right with El Deburge, then Wesley Snipes came to the scene promoting darkskin being desired, now in the 2000's it's back to light skin again.
