What’s up with jobs acting like they don’t wanna hire people?

Especially in this “Great Resignation” or whatever? I applied for this job I was hoping on, there’s a good amount of overlap with what I’m already doing. In the 2nd interview, they said the opening has been around since last year & they don’t know when it’ll be filled so I took the hint that I’m not getting picked. Sure enough, they reposted it 2 days ago :francis:

At my current job, this management position has been open for A YEAR :what: An opening for MY position has been open just as long :why: Prior to that, My partner over my region left and I spent at least half a year carrying the entire load and filling in on some of his duties cause they “couldn’t find” anyone :mindblown: It’s not rocket science and they’re only paying $40k. The shyt’s ridiculous. I understand doing your due diligence but I been wondering for the longest wtf is going on. I don’t job hunt a lot though so maybe I’m just now catching on to how petty it could be. It’s like they want perfection rather than seeing a candidate with room for growth.

Oh I see… :francis:
Millions Are Unemployed. Why Can’t Companies Find Workers?
A person may have 10 years’ experience in a certain industry. Now, they want to pivot. You’d think that in a competitive job market companies would offer training, upskillying and giving someone a chance. They don’t. Companies desire “plug-and-play” hires. These are the people who possess 12 of the 10 requirements on a job description and could capably start working on day one without any handholding or training.

The rub is that these folks demand a premium for their expertise, and the companies don't want to pay up for it. It's a case of FOMO (fear of missing out). Hiring managers, seeing a high unemployment rate, mistakenly believe they could find the best person at a lower wage. They’ll string along job seekers, as they keep waiting for the purple unicorn. Most often, these candidates don’t exist and the job remains open for long periods of time

Personnel is usually one of the most expensive parts of running business so the longer they can operate without filling certain roles the better. It’s the people working understaffed and probably still expected to make normal deadlines that get fukked.

With this CDL I call and am working in a week to a week 1/2.

I have a degree but never had as many job opportunities as I do now.

I never worry about quitting, taking off, or finding a new one.

100% real talk

Get used to it that’s the corporate model in a nut shell
And then they have the nerve to post the same shyt repeatedly on internal job listings :stopitslime:

For what?! You already said “no” to EVERYBODY :mindblown: we talked about it
