Im more willing to lean with this. My question is did Ross & Wayne know Jay would be featured on the song before they sent their verse or not? If not then the cards fell where they fell. Rozay went harder on his “What’s Free” verse for example, he obviously knew Jay was on the song as a gesture to Meek after being released from prison. Khaled is a Jay stan, he’s been dying for a Jay verse his whole career until “I Got The Keys”. Jay made that man earn it so Khaled is feeling immortalized now.

There was a strong claim though, also within the game. Influential, albums, guest verses. To see him reduced to elevator music while everyone waiting for Hov verse.. It surprised me.
