Puffy as a rapper, Mase, Kim The Lox....they were all under Biggie before Biggie left. Anything that had some sort of relation to Biggie including, Jay Z, Camron and Charlie Baltimore got to feed off that Biggie energy after the fact. So Kims success made sense because it was already in motion. Guest appearances on songs with Mary, Isley Brothers and Mobb Deep kept Kim afloat till her 2nd LP. Plus she promoted sex appeal like Hip Hop had never seen before so she had staying power at the time. .

I kinda knew she would still make moves after B.I.G. passed. Other artists love her too, so she was definitely gonna get on some records for features and stay busy. After the Latifah and Lyte era, Kim was always one of the more likable and personable female MC's.
