Maybe Adam Silver rewards Chicago's efforts in maintaining "integrity" for the game in March and April and rigs the lottery and Chicago moves into the top 4

So because they extended Pat, you're implying they build around Josh Giddey when all the signs indicate that he's not good enough to be the franchise player

Trash coach the game was lost in the first quarter. Donovan sat and did nothing as the heat went on that run.
It's already obvious that Giddey is getting retained. My issue isn't even about that. My issue is even trading for him to begin with. Which I've said countless times and yal continue to just ignore that. It's been reported by creditable sources that multiple teams were offering 1sts for Caruso. That was strike one.
Then let's talk about the LaVine trade, which was made just to ensure they would keep their pick because they refused to just bottom tf out. Just a waste of a trade because now 2 of the 3 players you got back are still on your books. Since trading LaVine was the priority, it would have been much better to try and add cheaper young talent back and draft capital back instead of vets. Now next year they have 0 flexibility and a worse pick to add to the roster, and Tre Jones is walking for nothing.
I defended Pat because of the circumstances and context around the team he was drafted to. After an entire year in a system designed to generate more shots for everyone and moving on from DeMar and Zach and him looking worse, I can't defend anything I saw from him. People were done with him after year 2 despite a complete overhaul of the roster and expectations on the team... And a season ending injury. Sure people can say they were right and we should have traded him for Jeremi Grant or Rudy Gobert when he still had value, but not being sold on this team building Josh Giddey isn't in the same realm as me having patience with Pat to actually be competent at basketball or blossom with more opportunity.

They clearly wanted to retain their pick which they denied to the media since day 1. When asked about potentially losing it, they were all on some, "We're going to try and win every game, we're not concerned about our draft position"... Then after the LaVine trade was made AK says keeping their 1st was a goal all year.
They are where they are in this year's draft because of the incompetent approach they've deployed all season. I blame AK for being such a p*ssy to begin with in all of this. If Donovan isn't budging on going scorched Earth being in the Play-In then replace him for the future of the franchise.
