Buzzi mane gonna be that player, full homer shyt :banderas:
Matas looks the part, but he shines as a potential 6'10 perimeter player with great ball skills. Bulls front court needs to have some athletic dawgs that rebound, protect the rim and are lob threats to unlock the roster IMO

Patrick is an anomaly. His regression needs to be studied. Me holding out hope for him improving from a 10PPG guy to a 15/16PPG guy isn't as outlandish as thinking you can build a title contending team around Josh Giddey

Who is saying building around kiddey is the end game? Hes a very young productive player who plays a position that is important. Realistically no team is contending for a title without superstar talent. Bulls will either have to have one of these young dudes ascend or do trades. They are not bad enough to capitulate a season so this is where they are at.

If Buzelis turns into that player fantastic. Its not a given a lottery pick leads to that. Look at pwill. Joker was a second round pick iirc, giannis late. I would much rather them field a fun young competent squad than the bullshyt they trotted out the past several years

Whats the alternative anyway? Let him walk :mjlol:

Yeah but these arent players that are that rare. Its plenty if rim running 4s out there

the only good thing about the giddey contract is with him being a RFA, there's only like 3 teams who have space to offer him anything.

and obviously the pistons and spurs aren't gonna offer him shyt. I think the nets could offer him a deal, but that's the only team that might be willing to sign him to a big offer sheet. I just hope the bulls let him go out and find his own deal and then match it instead of bidding against themselves.

They've already fukked up the alternative. Which was trade Caruso for draft capital instead of Giddey.

But if a team with a top 10 pick and salary filler wanted Giddey, I'd much rather do a sign and trade and continue stacking young talent on rookie contracts.

Giddey has been great since the trade deadline, but honestly, if he was a true franchise floor raiser, he would have been able to have this type of impact with LaVine also on the roster.

why do you think that?

Lavine has had like one winning season his whole career. The kings aren't setting the world on fire. Hes a great offensive player that for whatever reason doesn't lead to any sustained winning.

You'd trade Kiddey for pick ten, when realistically if your tenth pick turned into to giddey thats a success

lets go down the line for 10th picks in recent drafts for if they would be better than giddey

2024: Cody Williams. no
2023: Casen Wallace. no
2022: Johnny Davis. no
2021: Zaire Williams. no
2020: Jalen smith. no
2019: Cam Reddish. no
2018: Mikal Bridges. finally a possible yes
2017: Zach Collins. no
2016: Thon Maker. no
2015: Justice Winslow. No

I went back ten years. I think thats far enough. So give me a logical reason you would jettison giddey for cap and the tenth pick when outside of Bridges none of those players really did much outside of being rotational pieces  Now, you can find gems in the draft at any pick for sure but i'm trying to underdig why you think this particular team would be better off fielding that trade. Naw Giddey isn't a generational build around and you win tier player but there are only several of those in the L and even then only one team can win. I'm not saying hes the best pg in history but giving up on a 22 year old cuz you have to pay him 30-40 mil seems dumb asf. sends a bad message to other players too. Coby/Buzzi/Giddey is a better starting spot than a lot of teams.

I said a top 10 pick, not the 10th pick. Also, all drafts aren't the same. Having more draft capital in what's been deemed as a great and deep draft is the point. Matas fell to 11 last year, someone else could slip out of the top 5... but it doesn't matter because Chicago won't have a top 10 pick anyway.

Giddey is fine to have, but ultimately, if the end goal is to be in title contention, he has a lot of questions to answer before I just think he's the guy that will be a key piece to that happening in Chicago. I just would have went about resetting the roster last summer in a different way. There's also no guarantee they'll be able to retain Coby after they pay Giddey.

Drops 21 in a meaningless game vs the Cavs without everybody playing then follows that up with a combined 4 points in his next 2 games.

Ain't no fukking way this guy works on his game or even understands it. It's impossible

Matas could really take off next season with the way his 3 ball is coming together. We hit an absolute home run on this pick. It’s funny because I think when we all saw his first couple summer league games we all saw him jumping off the screen
