My position on lavine was always the same, if you can get a package that looks like young promising star and a couple picks then you can do it because ultimately lavine is not the kind of star that leads your franchise to a title. But if you can't get that kind of return then just keep him.

We are a team like 7 games under .500 of course lavine can be traded. Anyone can be traded. But we are now in a spot where if we don't land a top 2 pick and we keep getting these 7th 8th picks we are screwed 10 more years.

At least when garpax parted with jimmy Butler they made sure lavine and a pick that got us markenen was the return. They didn't just dump him for a pick that they would have likely kept anyway.

People thought the perception changed after he came back and showed he's still and All Star caliber talent and one of the best shooters/scorers in the NBA.

It really looks like the only thing that changed in a LaVine deal a year ago and now is that they no longer had to include any assets to move off of him. That's it.
