Missed the game assumed it was going to be a beat down. Tank thing over with but I knew that coming into the season. To tank the way they needed to tank you got to make that decision out the gate. Also can't expect a coach or front office to go to a group of players and say "hey we want you all to play to lose cause we need the Spurs pick"

Players not going to say " oh yea we will do that and possibly draft a guy who will be our replacement " lol

Best case scenario is to hope for a play in 1st game loss then luck up like Atlanta did.
This is what trying to win every game looks like...

:wow:

The plan to keep Zach to raise his value and then trade him isn't really going play out like desired because of the landscape of the EAST.

They won too many games and they have too much talent to be bad enough to now fall into having a bottom 6 record. Even if you trade Zach and Vuc tomorrow, they still field a competitive team with guys with multiple years of experience... If you aren't getting a plethora of picks with young prospects on good deals, then you run the risk of trading guys playing at All-Star levels and still not keeping the pick.

Wins like last night start getting that delusion to kick in for a front office, but beyond that, unfortunately I think they ran out of time to effectively pivot without still being stuck in the middle trade or no trade

so we're gonna lose our pick in a loaded draft :mjlol:

this team cannot afford to not have a 1st round pick in this draft
That ship has sailed breh.

I don't see Billy Donovan sabotaging any team he coaches to the point of being dog shyt. Plus when you look at the standings, I can't see too many teams leap frogging them... even if you take Vuc and Zach off of this team they have too many guys that are NBA level players to lose out.

I just took a look at THT's Per 36 numbers:
22.1PPG
6REB
4.4AST

He's shooting 53% from the field and 43% from 3
:mjlol:

Tanking is something you put the framework in from the off-season. Signing a guy like THT is not a tanking move at all. Signing Jalen Smith is not a tanking move. They added guys in their young 20s who are still looking to solidify themselves in the league who are hungry.

Then remember how Coby looked last year playing without Zach, Ayo is a consistent contributor regardless of where he's on the floor. Giddey has been mixed, but he's not trash either. Julian Phillips, Dalen etc... these guys get more minutes, I think you're defense actually improves and as crazy it sounds, they probably play even faster than they do now.

Then the Bulls actually would be getting players of decent value back in a deal, so it's not like they'd be dealing Vuc for nothing. You are not dealing Zach for nothing. They have young pieces that can play and familiarity with the coach and they actually have a carved out a style of play offensively. I don't think they go on some terrible losing streak once you remove those guys. Just like I said, they wouldn't bottom out when they moved on from Caruso and DeMar despite all the shyt said about how bad they would be defensively and how they would suck in clutch games without DeRozan.

Vuc and Zach have been DAMN good, no doubt about it, but there's still too much here for this team to keep the pick at this point.

Best way to cope is just to look ahead to the 25/26 draft which is supposed to be stacked as well

do u honestly believe that could occur?

regardless, I still want the bulls to move those two for draft capital anyways since the bulls have blown so many picks on trades.
I mean... trading Zach and Vuc wouldn't result in a complete tear down IMO because now the Bulls are in position to get at least neutral value back for them. It's not going to be a salary dump situation where a team gets them for nothing.

Hell, even with the MPJ for Zach trade, the Bulls are adding a 6'10 shooter to the roster and they already play at the fastest pace in the NBA.

Potentially slotting out a lineup of...
Giddey 6'8
Coby 6'5
MPJ 6'10
Pat 6'8
Jalen 6'10

All those guys will be spacing the floor like crazy, then you still have Ayo, Matas, Lonzo, Julian, Dalen, THT... players that play hard af and are hungry. They wouldn't just be rolling the balls out there taking Ls. That's a young team with guys who have started for playoff teams, 1 NBA champion and a lot of other parts that are competent.

I don't know what they get back for Vuc, but regardless, they waited entirely too long to pivot now.
