On some level over the past 10-15 years with the popular-emerging of wrestling, breaking kayfabe, media explosion, etc., we've gotten to "know" the real ppl behind the characters on a level not previously done. Think about it....
We have a better idea who the real Hulk Hogan is, The Rock, Stone cold, Ric Flair, HBK, the list goes on. The biggest stars this industry has seen all the way down to announcers(like JR), and we know all about many of them off-camera from either their own mouth & their own ventures apart from WWE, or thru WWE released DVDs/books that completely break kayfabe and give a deeper glimpse into them as ppl.
But Vince seems to be an anomaly. You don't really know who he is at all. None of the wrestlers or former wrestlers seem to talk much about him from a non-work standpoint. There's that funny Road Warriors bar story with Vince. And the Ric Flair story on the Austin podcast about Vince giving him $800K for his divorce.... But mostly all you hear is, "he's really driven.....he's got a great mind for the biz.....creative genius, etc" Like nobody's ever sat down and had a few beers with him and talked about life.
Is there a real Vince McMahon or is his life just pretty much just WWE business?. You'd think at his age if he had other interests & hobbies, he'd step back.
And you KNOW Vince has seen a ton of stuff and has stories that could top any stories you hear from former wrestlers. But we'll probably never get to hear any of it.
