I used to wear my bullet-proof vest doing pull-ups. It was around 5 to 7 lbs. I never weighed it. It added some resistance when I was doing my pull up workout, i.e. 8 to 10 sets of only pull-ups.

I occasionally do insanty with the weighted vest. I use to play basketball with the weighted (I may go back to doing that.)

If you wear it enough, you will certainly feel lighter when you take it off. You'll also feel more explosive.

No Whammies!!
Back in 2011 lost 50 pounds (227 down to 175) in one of these

Mainly I would climb up and down stairs for an hour straight. Then, when the weather got warm I would walk for miles on the beach.
Eventually I went a little too far when I started to jog with it, so I stopped when I started having some foot pain. But it did its job, and now I'm still 194.

One thing that I forgot was that even after my knee started clicking a little I still got a lot of use out of it crawling upstairs then downstairs backwards on my hands and feet.
