9/10 solid performances all around. They actually brought life and stages to her character growth. Yes its half Scooby Doo mystery and half WB drama, but it works here, they stole like a genius and it payed off. The only cons I had; Gomez; is a far cry and canyon away from Raul Julia's epic performance, especially with Guzman sluggishly delivering his lines due to him being all of 66 years of age, and Zeta Jones looking like shes one more whisper away from nodding off into a valium coma. Essentially, these two looked like two grown ups cosplaying, and that's not a good thing.

Fred Armisen as Lester was a big let down as well, beyond not needing the character at all (story wise), his acting was that of a creeper and less charming and completely forgettable compared to Llyod's delivery in the movies. With that said, its still a fun series to follow, and it does stay faithful to most of the lore...Wednesday having visions was an ass-pull, but done right.

On episode 6 so far the only thing I really don't like is how little the actual family is involved, Pugsley, and Gomez are meh in this version. The OG movie Gomez was GoAT and the "Tish that's french!!"type of passion is missing

Ortega said on a recent episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast that many of the original “Wednesday” scripts made no sense to her from a character perspective, so much so that she went ahead and changed dialogue without consulting the film’s writers.

“When I read the entire series, I realized, ‘Oh, this is for younger audiences,'” Ortega said. “When I first signed onto the show, I didn’t have all the scripts. I thought it was going to be a lot darker. It wasn’t… I didn’t know what the tone was, or what the score would sound like.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down more on a set in a way that I had to on ‘Wednesday,'” she continued. “Everything that Wednesday does, everything I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all. Her being in a love triangle? It made no sense. There was a line about a dress she has to wear for a school dance and she says, ‘Oh my god I love it. Ugh, I can’t believe I said that. I literally hate myself.’ I had to go, ‘No.’ There were times on that set where I even became almost unprofessional in a sense where I just started changing lines.
