I still can't believe how some people underrate the size of the universe, and how some people do not realize that Earth barely constitutes a trillionth of the universe and that the universe is still expanding and that there's millions of other galaxies out there. I don't know how anyone can still think that we are alone in the universe, it's :mindblown: too me!!!

Atheist for Jesus
took my kids out to the woods this weekend and looked up...
just wow. The possibilities...

Anyone stuck in a big city needs to get out to where you can look up and actually see the milky way.

I can't believe people don't understand all of the factors that go into creating and sustaining complex life. Size of the universe isn't as important as you think.

i think the point the OP was making is that the universe is too big for us to be the only intelligent lifeform in it.

Which isn't true. Too many assumptions in that kind of basic thinking.

no its not basic thinking. its just logical thinking. There aren't many assumptions. We know that the universe is big as fukk, and the planet we are on is an infinitely small fraction of said universe. Then how are people wrong to infer that there are other intelligent lifeforms out there???

You are saying something isn't true with no facts behind it. That is basic thinking.

Stop looking for entities in the universe. You don't want to see what's out there. Jack Parsons did that so you won't have to go through that. :demonic:

Wrong. The first question is whether the Universe is organic or artificial (simulated). The answer to that question leads to different assumptions. If it's organic there is a chance that life exist, but then the factors of creating and sustaining complex, multicellular life has to be accounted for, which most people spouting "universe so big" don't realize diminishes the possibility significantly.

You know earth some billion years ago only had unicellular life right?? And how was the earth formed? If life evolved here, how do you know some similar evolution didn't happen somewhere else in the universe even before the Earth was formed????

And organic matter has already been discovered in the universe.

:what:

you're assuming that 'life' has to be the same as it is on earth :childplease:
I kno right. Even if we assume that it has to be same as it is on earth, his points still make no sense.

Sigh, the stupidity in this post :russ: If you know about abiogenesis then you know those processes are fragile. The Goldilocks zones aren't applicable to the whole universe. And no, we don't know if the Universe is organic and not contained in another dimension. If the Universe is simulated then throw your whole premise out the window.
