We exist within something that is within a reality.

1. How could an event occur when there was a point in time...when time itself didn't exist? Time defined at its most basic is an unfolding sequence of events. Life itself is paradoxical considering the big bang theory.

2. Light breaks the laws of physics. The speed of light is actually infinite. You can travel next to a beam of light at the speed of light and relative to your viewpoint the beam of light you're traveling next to "at the speed of light" remains traveling at "the speed of light." Why is that so? How is that possible?

3. The fact we are self conscious. Imagine this. If an exact replica of us existed elsewhere whether it be outside or inside this universe would we live through that clone? The universe is infinite so they say, so does that create infinite possibilities of what's out there? So does that mean that there is an exact copy of the milky way? An exact copy of our solar system? An exact copy of Earth? The exact same evolutionary traits exhibited for billions of years? What makes us remain conscious of this life? Of this body? The exact replica of a being...what would that person be like? Would the copy and "original" be the same?

4. Have you noticed every time you dream unless you are somehow given a clue within that dream or by outside influence that you ARE dreaming, the completely unbelievable becomes very believable? Your brain creates incredible scenarios which are sometimes complex, where it tricks itself, or "you" into accepting an entirely different way of living that you are accustomed to, and "you" are completely living through the dream as if nothing is abnormal...? You probably know where I'm going with this. What if this is all a dream? If your brain is able to make you believe ANYTHING is possible...what makes this existence any different?

This isnt exactly true is it? The speed of light is the speed of light. Its like saying, what if we turned on our headlights in a car going the speed of light? I dont think anyone can answer that question. Its just a thought experiment.

EDIT: i think i misunderstood. But if you are both going the speed of light, then you would observe a static photon since both velocities are constant with no point of reference no?

the term time is made up, just to place order in events

You're thinking of the wrong concept of time if you believe that. Yes, time is a man made concept, to an extent. But there is something called the space time continuum that is very real. Time is within our three dimensions. You have XY, Z, & T(time).

I always thought about this. Dreams feel real when you are experiencing them, it's only when you wake up that you realize what just happened was a dream. It's also crazy how you can never get hurt or die in a dream.

if the speed of light is infinite , then why's it when a star explodes or something, it can take us several years before we see it from here?

if it was infinite, wouldnt you view that in real time ?

don't try to talk science with angel on the rag, he doesn't believe in dinosaurs.

The speed of light is not infinite, just the speed of light. Physicists have observed particles that move faster than the speed of light. Other animals are conscious beings as well, like dolphins. Consciousness is just a result of higher brain function.

I've gone to sleep and immediately knew when I was in a dream, without any signs. Dreaming is obviously an important part of brain maintence, again, we aren't the only species who dreams. It's interesting that the amount of REM (dream sleep) needed goes down and down and down as you get older, until you die.

And akademic, I've died in a dream before. Came back as a ghost and observed how life was without me. I did however have a dream a few nights ago were I sincerely believed I was trapped in the dream and that it became my reality, and I accepted that. Then I woke up.
