I've seen a lot of World War 2 movies, documentaries and read a couple of books.

Somehow I never did get around to watching Ken Burns' documentary about WW2, "The War".

...at least, I don't remember having watched it before.

There's a lot you might not know. Obviously the holocaust dominates most of the narrative around the war and I don't want to diminish that. But much of what happened in the Pacific theater was crazy.

It's worth taking the days or weeks to slowly watch this. It's eye opening.

June 6, 2024 will mark 80 years since D Day.
RIP to all who served.

It’s my favorite wwII documentary. It explores so much more than the others and it’s more personal. It put a lot in perspective for me, in terms of combat even some black history.

Very sobering but endearing watch
