I enjoyed it even though there were some predictable spots and the overall feel of the move felt like the pilot for a TV show but it was good.
Good enough that I went out and bought the book it is based on.

I am midway through and it's pretty good. It's by Dean Koontz who I am not usually a fan of but I like this so far.

yeah I watched off the strength of the book alone pretty decent.

It was a cool movie but like some people will say I was kind of disappointed especially after reading the book but its worth a watch.

Nobody can tell me that it wasn't. I don't know why they were pushing for a movie release, instead of a direct to dvd or tv movie event release. Failed tv pilots which are still good enough for release happen all the time. Only three things I didn't like was the black chick may as well have been his Vampire Babysitter or the Indian chick from the American version of Being Human (that works for some people, it doesn't work for me), a certain scene came off like Tidus instead of Sixth Element, and the harem was in full effect.

It would have still been worth tuning in every week to see what other adventures he got into.
