2000 is one of my favorite years for the WWF. So many great PPV's

Royal Rumble (hardyz/dudleys table match), No Way Out(hhh/mankind hiac), Backlash (rock wins title from hhh), and Judgment Day (hhh/rock ironman match, taker returns) are some of my favorite shows. Wrestlemania 2000 and KOTR were probably the weakest shows from that year. They were on such a roll.

I can't front, I took these days for granted. Every ppv went off you felt satisfied afterwards. I took those HIAC and Ladder match bumps like they were just gonna keep going. I hate when wrestling got sensitive, I always felt that the product was meant to be crude, obscene and violent. It's wrestling, it needs to be entertaining especially when the shyt is fixed. The roster was deep enough and booking was logical enough at that time if someone took a crazy bump they would be off tv for a week or two just to either let the wrestler recover or let fans know that shyt hurt. fukk a PG era, fukk a Linda McMahon campaign. Let the squared circle famine end.......:sadcam: *pops in vhs of 2000 ppvs recorded back when a brotha had illegal cable*

I guess I don't mind it as much cause I watched wrestling in the 80s/early-90s when in my opinion it was way more kid-friendly than it is now. It had its edgy moments, but most of it was safe. It wasn't something I'd be watchin' at 8 years old and see some shyt that'd make an adult in the room be like :usure: and cut it off... I don't hate the decision to cut back on the crude shyt because A) it makes the edgier characters/moments stand out more, and B) obviously WWE can't depend on the same fans forever, so naturally they'd have to pull a younger audience in again at some point. I think it's going in a cycle though. Right now it's like '96-ish with more edgy shyt starting to happen, whereas a few years ago it was on '94 Todd Pettengill levels of kid-friendliness. Can't lie, I cringed back around '09 when they started showing kids in the crowd giving the thumbs down. I didn't even know kids still did that.

old smackdown matches are better than current ppv main events.

You definitely have a point about going through a cycle. It was crazy how growing up during the federation days things was pretty tame. I think the wildest thing I've seen was Jake Roberts letting that snake bite Macho Man, then the Attitude Era came and porn stars was getting regulated by Japanese dudes and etc. I just wonder what's gonna happen when these kids grow up. Will we see an era where Cena is like "I tried to give you morals and now you boo me....fukk ya'll kids!" or Orton shows up for a be a star assembly and regulates a principle? :pachaha: we probably won't though :manny:

I think that's exactly what's gonna happen tho'. Cena's obviously the kids' favorite, the Hogan of his time. It's gonna be a time when he ain't the one anymore and he's gonna shock 'em. Matter fact, it's probably one of the main reasons why they've been so stubborn as far as turning him. When those kids get around 14-15, shyt's gonna be crazy for them to see the good guy of good guys turn bad. I know that shyt made me start watching WCW again after I heard Hogan turned. Cause it was like I'd seen everybody else go from good to bad back to good... but never saw Hogan as a heel. shyt had me like :pachaha:

There was a time I used to try to look back at the old 80s stuff and be like :childplease: cause I was into the newer Attitude Era and the nostalgia hadn't kicked in yet. But now I love watchin' those shows cause it's what I grew up on and even the goofiest shyt (except for the Gobbledy Gooker) is fun to watch in retrospect.
