I never knew the Nolan version was an American remake. I picked up the OG during the CC Sale. I've never seen either films, so I watched them back-to-back. Really enjoyed the first film. It's not perfect, but damn good. I wasn't expecting dude to be such a scumbag. 
The American version was one I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. Pacino is one of my faves and Robin is such a great actor, so there's no way this couldn't fail. The acting was superb, obviously. Skarsgard is a solid actor, but Pacino did a better job with the physical acting.
Both films are different, yet familiar. Nolan did a great job making his version with respect to the OG.
