Was there divine intervention in Django Unchained, like Pulp Fiction?

There are two scenes where either django or schultz are shown shaking off whole bullets from their clothing: Schultz tips his hat and a bullet fall froms it, Django shakes them from his coat when he surrenders.

What was that about? I didnt understand it.

Maybe since they are agents of good they arent harmed, just like in the pulp fiction scene.

Thoughts?
