Was the PS3 the most anticipated console of alltime?

As far as living up to the hype, i feel it didnt. Not because it doesnt have the potential to, but just because most game developers are too lazy to use it.

SNES or PS2 easy. N64 was up there as well, but that failed and caused Nintendo to slip to 3rd place from 1996-2006.

Sony killed their own buzz with that ridiculous price tag on the PS3.

I don't know about the most hyped. I didn't see a wii in a store for about 6 months after it was released. I eat good with my triple tho. It met my expectations and then some.

Edit: Nintendo was in 2nd place from 96-2001 due to SEGA falling. The gamecube was garbage.

Maybe its just me, but the Wii came out 2 days after the ps3 and if i remember correctly EVERYONE was waiting for the 3. Not the wii

The wii was cheap and different and no store could keep them in stock for more than a few minutes. I've never seen a console be sold out like that for that long.

I've always rocked with Sony but I remember being like when it first dropped because of the price. When the price came back into my solar system I bought one and have been with it since then.

Wii was most hyped imo. It was like nothing else when it came out. I remember me buying Zelda:TP for the Wii before I even had the Wii.
