I'm looking at these numbers and I'm like how is this cac getting all these boards. Then I do a quick search and I'm like they lying like they do for KD. This dude at least 6'11 if Magic was 6'9. Then I look at PG who's 6'9 and I'm like this cac ain't no damn 6'9. Dude 7ft tall. He was really the biggest guy out there on the court majority of the time.

I don't think Bird was taller than McHale who was close to 7 feet. Plus I always figured that Magic was closer to 6'7 and MJ in the 6'5 range but I could be wrong though cause he's got a few inches on George too.

PG 6'10...He grew as well cuz he came in so young back in 2010. I'm telling you. Bird gotta be 6'11-7ft

shyt would explain a lot about his career on how he was able to be so damn dominate lol.

Pacers' Paul George grows two inches since last season

I think Bird was probably a "true" 6'9" while Jordan was not really 6'6" and Magic was not really 6'8".
But that means they're lying about everybody's height.
Because Drexler and Mullin are both supposed to be 6'7" and they both look about an inch taller than MJ.
And Magic looks about two inches taller than those guys and Bird looks about a couple of inches taller than Magic.
Bird being around 7 feet would make sense, people always speak about how was he able to be so good while being so unathletic, but if he's 7 feet tall you can make parallels to Dirks game who is also 7 feet tall.

Bird was listed 6'9" barefoot, Magic is closer to 6'7" barefoot and Jordan is around 6'5" barefoot (think it was 6'4.5" if you want to get technical). In pictures next to Robert Parish (legit 7'0" barefoot) and Kevin McHale (I'm guessing 6'10"-6'11" barefoot), Bird is a little shorter than them. But shyt, looking at that picture of him next to PG (who's probably 6'9" barefoot himself), Larry would be closer to 6'10" barefoot. Pretty much all measurements before the 1970s were taken without shoes but between the '70s and early '80s it's hit-and-miss.

Larry was also just a scrappy motherfukker, he was tall for a small forward but hovered around 210-220 lbs in his prime (even said he was as light as 206 in the summer of '86 in his book Drive) and wasn't explosive. Man hustled until he physically couldn't anymore.

He hurt is back paving his driveway. He hustled his ass off but it was him getting hurt at home that fukked up the rest of his career. He could still shoot the lights out some nights but his back was fukked; he'd be laying down on the sidelines and shyt because it hurt too much to sit.

If Bird played in today's era he could have gotten his back a lot better with modern medicine and technique. There's been guys who had the same back issues who got better with treatment.

Yea, the Courtship of Rivals and Dream Team documentaries go into more detail about Larry post-1988 or so. He also writes about his rehab process in his book and that shyt sounded beyond horrible. You have to really love the game.

Most basketball players have listed heights that are an inch or two greater than their real barefoot heights

There are some exceptions, like Durant and Larry Bird

Like others in this thread have mentioned, Magic was probably 6'7"-6'8", Jordan 6'4"-6'5", but Bird was probably a legit 6'9"-6'9.5"
