On different sites people claimed to have heard from good sources that he signed to Atlantic (or Interscope, depends on the story)

Do ya'll think he had some secret single deal or development deal before the Young Money deal?

His management which was major dudes probably got his shyt on the radio.
This was after he blew the fukk up with a huge mixtape, and I don't.
Also the single wasn't on the charts until he was signed, so if it got any radioplay it wasn't major.
His management probably signed a few deals with a few radio stations around the country, spent some bread basically like Jay and them did with Roc-a-fella.

And since cats knew that he was blowing up they wanted to show support, to get that love back when the time was right.
