I’m talking real young. Like 4,5,6...

When I was like 5 living in College Park I would beg my dad to take me to the High School football field to try to kick a field goal. In my mind it felt like an NFL stadium.

The way the chalk was on the baseball fields was always fascinating to me. The first time I saw a real pitchers mound in person I felt like I was in a movie.

:wow:

My Uncle gave me one of his old football helmets and I pestered my Dad until he would get me a mouth piece from KMart. I had it boiled, and molded to my teeth, then snapped it on the helmet, then took the helmet and spray painted it Blue.

You couldn’t tell me shyt. :russ:

Tying my first baseball glove with a belt and sleeping with it under my mattress so it could get broken in.

Stealing cotton balls from my moms room, putting water on them and sticking them in my mouth so I could look like Sugar Ray or Hagler.

My first basketball socks and sweatbands. I really thought I was Magic or Zeke.

I was literally obsessed with anything that would make me look like the athletes on TV.

that's a major draw for sports

like with football

the draw of all the pieces of gear is very powerful

almost every little.boy is into superheroes at some point & strapping on that helmet & pads is like real life becoming a power.ranger or some shyte ha

right down to having a obsession with the performance features of your footwear

this is natural male wiring you are far from alone b

Yeah that reminds me. I was really hype about the concept of cleats. Thought they were like super hero shoes

I remember I found a football helmet at a thrift store back in the day.. it was plain white.. I BEGGED my father to paint a stripe down the middle... I came home from school like a week after and he did it.. a lil youngin was:gladbron: So I figured I would ask him to put the hurricanes logo on it... I was obsessed with The U and Florida Gators since Maryland was always trash in football... He never did it but I used to put it on and dive over the couch like it was 4th n goal with pillows stuffed in my shirt as pads... My mom's caught me jumping over the back of her couch and put that belt to my ass

Yooooooooo the first time my mom ever too me to dikks sporting goods and they had the official NBA basket setup:blessed: and they didn't have that stupid lid on them.. but they wasn't like Walmart with that cheap bin full of balls so I couldn't shoot.....also I seen the official Chris Webber Michigan jersey :wow:

And like someone above said.. idk what it is about baseball equipment but seeing all them different bats and gloves..

I remember I walked on a real football field... I always wondered why it so hard to get ten damn yards but when I seen how wide the field was:picard:

I had my ball thinking I was Randall Cunningham just playing an imaginary game trying to see how far I could launch it

When I was in the Navy living in Connecticut we would take a 2 hour lunch and go play football on a high school field and it had all the lines and the field goal posts... nikkas in the mud trying to kick 20 yard FGs:pachaha:

Even to this day I'm fascinated by football fields... There's one near my house I swear I wanna hop the fence and just run route trees and run pass options on some Shep and Nutso shyt :lolbron:

I’m still into it :mjcry:

I just copped the Nike Revival 8P basketball with no intent to use it on the court. I just collect them joints like works of art :ohlawd:

For some reason, I remember a catcher’s mitt being like this holy grail...was always the most expensive glove so could never get one since I wasn’t even a catcher, lol (but it just looked so cool to me). One of the first things I ever bought after I started working was a catcher’s mitt...still have it in the closet and have never used it, but fukk that
