Warner Bros. targeting ‘Suicide Squad 2’ production for 2017

Tonight news broke that Suicide Squad director David Ayer is reteaming with Will Smith for a new movie called Bright. Variety reports that the project will likely end up at Warner Bros., though Sony is a possibility too. But there was some interesting Batman news buried in that story as well!

According to Variety, the hope is to get production rolling on Bright this year in order to get both Ayer and Smith ready for a Suicide Squad sequel shoot by 2017.

Suicide Squad isn’t out until August, and it sounds like Warner Bros. is already planning a sequel. That’s great news, and means they’re very confident in the movie.
