Waka was ALWAYS better than Gucci Mane. One reason being Waka could ride a beat better than Gucci Mane, Guccis flow was very mundane and basic. Waka could always RAP, though he was never that good of a writer (Gucci Mane is superior to him in this regard, but hes inferior in pretty much in every other regard).
Especially on tracks together, Gucci just couldn't keep up with Wakas pace and energy
This was almost like when Waka collbaed with French Montana on Lockout and Waka just embraced French throughout the whole tape (luckily for Gucci, he has SOME redeeming qualities unlike French)..
Another thing that put Waka over Gucci was an ear for production. Gucci having the persona he had, got a lot of silly sounding fukking beats. Basic ass beats with annoying/cheap sound selection.
(Love Drumma Boy, but this beat is annoying and cheap sounding as fukk)
Whereas Waka mostly got ominous, dramatic, bombastic scores. And the shyt sounded somewhat expensive (he too had he his fair share of bad beats handed to him. For the most part though this wasnt case)
Overall, Waka was the more natural, raw talent. You listen to older shyt and say "I see why he made it" Gucci was a quirky character with some very dubious track record from his earlier days.
