I always got a retro vibe but I thought that was Isis being cheap lol am I imagining the fact that archer was supposed to be a bad spy in season one or am I exaggerating his incompetence

There are too many pop culture reference post 1985 for it to take place in 1985... I do think it is modern times, like 1990's atleast...

For example... The song "Dangerzone" from Top Gun and the movie itself came out in 1986...
