EPISODE DESCRIPTION
Within the framework of the Fifth Inter-American Week for People of African Descent, today’s maiden episode of “Voices from the Americas,” a new podcast series presented by the Organization of American States, will address the salient sub-themes of this year’s theme “Stories of Courage in the Americas: Resistance to Slavery and Unity against Racism.”

Divided into two segments, “Reflection on our shared heritage and the fight against racism” and “Success Stories,” you will hear speakers share their stories, both personal and professional; their experiences as Afro-descendants and their thoughts on racial injustice.

The episode is moderated by the Permanent Representative of Grenada to the OAS, Ambassador Yolande Y. Smith, and panelists include Professor Goerge JS Dei from the Department of Social Justice Education of the University of Toronto, and Dr Cleve Scott, a Historian and research associate at the Oral History Project in the Department of History and Philosophy, University of the West Indies Cave Hill.
