I need some pointers for compression settings brehs

I had some mean settings in Cool Edit Pro like 15 years ago but I lost em. Im using Ardour on Linux now so I cant use any fancy Pro Tools plugins. Just need basic settings for a compressor and a parametric EQ

Any pointers

Check out Waves C-6 Multi-Band Compressor. It has great presets for Vocals.
You need to download it as a Waveshell.
Than open the Waveshell in your DAW and choose the Effect you want to use.

I am on Linux breh, I dont think thats going to work for me. There are some multiband compressors for programs on it and I think I can run some Windows programs on it. I got Cool Edit Pro 2.1 running :biggapls: But for now I just want to keep it basic since I know that will work. Once I know how to use compression and an EQ separate then I can mess with a multi band. I'm more interested in how to mess with settings rather than what plugins to use... once u know what the settings mean the plugins dont really matter.

use mutiple compressors instead of one doin all the work...i normally use fast attack and fast release on the first compressor in the series for peaks and each compressor after gradually slow the attack and release so its culmulative effect....eq bad stuff out before compression..boost what you like after compression
