I've been reading about Jonestown all year.
Can't wait for this, gonna be amazing.
Hope he does at least brief cuts of all the people that escaped or hid during the mass murder, I love survival stories.
The one with the two lawyers who came into Jonestown right before shyt hit the fan that disliked each other but when the end came basically shook hands and said yah this beef can wait and put their escape into action is great.

HBO Finally realized they can't beat him when it come to quality so they 'signed' him. But seriously.... hopefully this leads to him producing/writing/directing (He's underrated as a director.. wish he'd do a full length flick at some point) his own original series for HBO after this

WHile I am looking forward to this because I find the whole Jim Jones/Jonestown thing to be infinitely fascinating, Gilligan is going to have a hard time finding someone to compare to the pitch perfect performance Powers Boothe gave as Jim Jones in the OG mini-series about the Jonestown Masascre.
Boothe is a severely underrated actor.

how gullible and stupid were these people?
They were mostly poor, not very well educated and looking for something/someone to believe in. And Jones actually started out doing a lot of good before his went batshyt crazy. So most of them got hooked in early on when Jones was still sane.
