There's a horrific trend in dating to watch out for as we enter Year End party mode: the "what's your credit score" question. The New York Times is reporting that looking for the Perfect 10 is out, your chick/dude's good standing with credit agencies is in. And a Doomsday party for optimists here in Paris turns to the future reckoning there are reasons to be cheerful.

A perfect 10? Forget that. Ask for your date's credit score - FRANCE 24

Money leads you to your mate? Sad.

Its so demonic, friends.

It's not about money. You can have a bad credit score whether you have money or don't. A credit score concerns your spending habits, knowledge of how to manage yourself, responsibility, etc. Basically, a credit score indicates whether or not the person pays their debts and bills.

What is a good woman with bad credit in a country where credit scores dont effect happiness?:ohhh: Lets not put money before love, only demonic things come when we tell a woman she isnt quality because of an ungodly score.

Is a person with bad credit really going to be a good partner, though? There are a number of bad reasons one could have bad credit. They could spend all their money on needless things, or be generally materialistic. They could be unreliable and untrustworthy. They could be immature and not know how to handle everyday business. All of these things will probably matter to you no matter what kind of person you're looking for.

marriage is a contract. i dont want to sign up so that i can ride on a sinking ship. what if this woman is a compulsive shopper or a gambling addict? that's what is really demonic. she could be taking food out of our kids' mouths with her blowing money fast lifestyle.

I haven't watched the video, but I'm kind of shocked that this didn't become something a year or 2 ago. It just seems like something that would come up in our culture and in the throes of a recession.

Then again, I ALSO find the current conversation funny on a website where conspicuous opulence is often worshiped as the actions of a deity. Maybe that's just my sense of humor.

Dont you have the skills to assess your woman before you marry her? Im not sure what a good credit score is going to tell you. If shes a demon, shes going to do demonic things good credit or not. If shes going to ruin your life, she probably wont ruin her credit in the process, just yours. Im still kind of put off that a man of your intellect could be hoodwinked into dating a degenerate gambler or a disobedient woman.

I dont think credit is the barometer for a good person and looking at marriage like a business is a joke regardless of what the demons in your land tell you but thats just my opinion. I guess you guys dont express love and make decisions on your future with a woman until you see her FICO.

Of course it's not a barometer for a good person. I never said that. But it is one of many useful indicators. And why do you keep bringing up business and money? The income of the person is irrelevant to the point.

millions of people end up in bad marriages, people far smarter than me. i cant say that a bad credit score is a guarantee that she will be a bad wife, but in a world where women outnumber the men, i dont need to take that kind of risk. there's a lot more women, so i can afford to have a strict policy on that.

anyway, if a woman had no obvious signs of troubling financial behavior, but her credit was jacked up, i would be foolish to continue with anything serious regarding this woman if she could not come up with a great explanation for why it is so bad. it's worse when you jump into a bad situation head first. then i would only have myself to blame if her problem proves to be pathological.

Credit has everything to do with money and in this case is being used as a method to judge what kind of spending habits someone has based on a financial score. This score is then used to decide if you should fall in love with that person. Its all so freaking Sick friend. Gosh!
