This doesn't necessarily have any bearing on whether Obamacare is a better alternative than previous health care incarnations. Retarded conservatives think a computer science bug should mean the entire thing is bunk. It could be that Obamacare is STILL better than the alternative but that the website is having trouble with traffic. fakkit cons.
I don't know why the website crashed. It could have been a traffic issue. It could be a beta issue. Who knows.
Anyway there are a multitude of countries with less sophisticated governments that run single payer health care systems just fine. The merit of the health care proposal is not to be found in the website, but in the care delivered to people. The people who voted for Obamacare know that the current system isn't working so why not try something different. Again this website does not and should not decide the question of whether Obamacare is better or worse for the American people. As for people "losing their coverage", I'm not certain on the details of such so I won't speak it.
I know more than enough about the Republican party to know they are incompetent if nothing else. They offer criticism without solutions because they have none of the latter.
The problem with taking the stance that the website's issues don't matter in relation to Obamacare ignores the fact that the website is the primary way to get Obamacare and that it's mismanagement is becoming a bigger issue because information keeps coming out that the Obama Admin was well aware that the website wouldn't work yet still plowed right ahead with going live with it despite it not being ready. And the Obama Admin is being shown as trying to cover up the fact that they knew the site was going to be shytty.
So instead of being a "computer science bug" it has now become a matter of incompetence and duplicity by the Obama admin and that allows Republicans to then frame it as a question of how a group that is incapable of getting a website running optimally is supposed to manage healthcare for the entire country.
Add to the opposition being fully armed with ammunition given to them by the Obama administration through unforced errors to the frustration that citizens are having when they are unable to successfully sign up for Obamacare because the website is shytty and you have a recipe for political disaster.
