You have to take away modern medicine and training strategies from current players and assume they would have grown up in the same conditions as 60s players before you can compare them.

Please son. With no 3 point line those lanes were always clogged as f*ck with bigs, the only league appropriate for Jordan-style of play back then was the ABA. If by some Miracle you weasled your way in the paint w/o gettin hacked you'd still only be like Jordan for the fraction of a second u got in the air until a defensive guy like Gus breaks you in half on ur weak ass drive. Those guys are professional athletes - u aint - Wilt and Kareem were in that league - u think u can ball with the likes of them?

Yah but Gus is one of those players who u could prob time travel and put him in a modern game wit his chucks on and he'd still ball hard. Tha man is a freak, if he were playin today with Nike's, liftin weights and had modern medical care to treat all his knee injuries he used to have the dude would be listed 6-8 and be at least 250lbs of muscle - outmuscling forwards on both ends. What Nate Thurmond says in the beginning of the vid is pretty accurate - Gus would be a superstar in todays league esp now that the game has opened up with better floor spacing for players with his type of athleticism

The game has changed since then... the stuff u watch today that "works" to create space and opportunities to score were not exactly the same back then. Crowded lanes, palms down dribble, more offensive charge calls and absolutely zero ticy tac fouls that favor the drive - that was a very physical big man's league - on the inside u'd get crushed by the likes of Wilt Chamberlain, on the outside u got Frazier and West lookin to pick your pocket and able to steer u where they want u to go w/hand checks. They NBA pros playin pro ball - sure its 1960s but they aint no local rec league, they were the best in the world
