Great, great article.

I had no idea that sisters were in wrestling like that back in the day:ohhh:.

Now, if WWE really cared about "Black History", they'd be honoring sisters like this.
I can do without Stephanie taking credit for womens wrestlers before her time thank you very much.

Not one of the first black women’s wrestlers, but why is Aja Kong never discussed as one of the GOAT black women’s wrestlers?

3 five star matches from Big Dave Meltzer, important person in Joshi history, been around the world including a short WWE run (near the end of it, she was going to get a shot at Alundra Blayze’s WWE Women’s Title, but Blayze got fired which nixed it), and she innovated the package piledriver

Didn't even know Aja Kong was a Sista...always heard of her in passing but had yet to sought out any of her matches. Was she sorta the precursor to Amazing Kong?

Real cool article, makes me legit interested in looking up more on all those wrestlers. Putting this article, and the Moolah ones in perspective, still crazy as hell to think how far back women's wrestling in this country had been pushed back for so long.

No reason there not in the legacy wing of the HOF
They have Bearcat Wright & Luther Lindsay in the HOF

:comeon:

a) If this was an article they had been sitting on, why didn't they publish it in February? You know Black History month and especially after the 1st Women's Rumble and Chamber matches.

b) Someone from Vice or even the writer of the article read the thread, considering it was being linked on twitter constantly and being used as reference.

c) Sweet Georgia Brown was mentioned in the thread and a link about her life was given for further reading. The author of the article isn't going to straight up mention her because it would of been too obvious, so they did a next best thing and the foundations were laid to go and research other Black Female Pro Wrestlers.
