Edit: Wait didn't know he was gay, this shyt shocked me...smh!
I didn't know he was gay. Not even 100% sure based on that interview that he was.
Either way I couldn't care less lol
Is he really gay? I remembered him saying that playing Omar on the Wire was a 'challenge'
at no point in this interview does he ever say he is gay.
you going out of your to try and start some shyt for no reason. MKW isn't gay breh. stop it
he didnt say that. wtf
Me either, he kinda alluded to it a little bit in a way but he wasn't too clear.
I'm not sure.
He kinda alludes to being soft though if you read between the lines. He says he was too weak to hang out with other men and a lesbian dyke made him tougher and he hung in a lot of gay clubs. He said he wasn't fakkit mike or nothing and the gays embraced him. Why would they think he was fakkit mike if he wasn't gay.
I hope it's not true cause he from my neighborhood and I got a lot of respect for him but just saying. Plus he played a few gay charcters. Either way it is what it is and I still got respect for dude and because of that I will change what I wrote in the OP.
If him being gay would make you lose even an ounce of respect for him, you should be asking yourself if you ever respected him in the first place.
You didn't read my post.
I wrote, "Either way it is what it is and I still got respect for dude and because of that I will change what I wrote in the OP"
I respect dude still for what he brings to his roles that he plays and him repping for the neighborhood the right way because he made something of himself. He even seems to give back and does things for the kids.
With that said, I hope it's not true cause we already got a lot of men out here wearing dresses and men acting effeminate in the media. For a man of his caliber to be gay if it was true only further perpetuates the ideal of the black man being weak and etc, etc. I mean he got to live for him and be true to himself but it just kinda shameful a little bit. It would be like the Mr. Cee thing all over again imo.

Your right that it would be a me thing, as it is my opinion and I respect him none the less but I would be ashamed of him being a gay and that aspect of him. I don't like or approve of gays or homosexual behavior and that's how I feel about that. Maybe I'm too old school but I think that shyt is gross and don't respect that. With that aside Michael K Williams is still that dude but him being gay I think is lame, even if he not a weak homosexual or wearing a dress.I don't want to get into a back and forth, so this will probably be my last post on this, but a lot of what you just said is highly contradictory.
Him being gay would actually be the opposite of perpetuating the ideal of a black man being weak, because, as you said yourself, he's done nothing but carry himself in a strong, righteous, and proud way.
He's done nothing but rep, on and off screen, and hasn't "worn dresses" or "acted effeminate", in any way, at any point.
So to me, if he was gay, any of those feelings of "shame" (your words, not mine) would be on you, and not on him.
The fact that even though you respect him, his work, and his off-screen work, could evoke a "shameful" feeling, is a you thing, and not a him thing.
Did you watch the interview or read the rest of the thread. He's not gay at all. He just played a gay dude in The Wire. Stop it.
