VG Leaks Orbis Dual Camera Aka Kinect Jr

When we unveiled Orbis, an enigmatic device called “Dual Camera” was also listed within the info.

“Dual Camera” appears to be an evolutioned HD Eyetoy instead of a Kinect device, based on the features offered right now.

It contains a pair of wide-angle cameras. Each camera offers a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (720p).

Sound is processed by a 4 microphone array working at 48 Khz.

The device can perform some non gaming tasks such as:

- Recognize the user and log in the system

- Video chat

In the gaming field it supports head and hand tracking as new game inputs. Currently it’s not clear if this device will support body tracking in the future as Kinect but it’s almost sure that it will be bundled with every Orbis system.

Do you like the idea of an “Eyetoy Next-gen”? Could it be a real rival for a (more than) supossed “Kinect Next-gen“?

Why are you so upset that this man is shedding some light on what will be included with the next PS4?
Is it not a less evolved Kinect Jr as the thread title suggest?

It makes perfect sense because Kinect features are already being used in more and more games. So now PS4 games can have some of the same features.
Will PS4 have its own version of "Siri", will it recognize/understand voice commands as well as Kinect 2.0 seems like it will?
This is a "me too" feature obviously, so don't expect it to be better or equal
I guess I'm a fanboy for pointing that out

Do people still care about motion sensors and all of that for gaming though? What games are people actually playing for Kinect? Let's not even talk about Move... and Nintendo's gimmick has already lost it's luster.

Eyetoy been out plus I don't hear nikkas talking about that trash Kinect. That shyt is a toy for casuals who happen to have to have 360's to use them. No self respecting gamer cares about Kinect.

For games, I could care less. Not a fan of it myself. If it's simple things,

I don't care about it for gaming.

Kinect was great for Head Tracking(forza) , Voice commands (2k Forza Horizon madden ) and other useful things. If they had included the CPU into kinect like they were suppose to i think it would have been a much more useful device. instead it was marginalized by them being cheap.
