Didn't see a thread about this but in February Verizon launched a new pre-paid plan. For $60 you get unlimited talk and text with 500MB of data, and for $70 you get unlimited talk/text with 2GB. These plans are intended only for 3G model smartphones so that may be somewhat of a catch.

I'm currently paying about $85 under my Verizon contract right now and I've been planning to leave for T-Mobile's better prices once my contract is up, but this might convince me to stay.

just what I always wanted. pre-paid 3G on verizon in 2013 :comeon:

I love how phone companies these days are just giving away unlimited minutes like :yeshrug: and jerking everyone on the data.

It's smart business. The profits are on data not phone minutes or even text. People use smartphones more as mobile computers than as actual phones. Even communication over smartphones often occurs online.

So basically, their new (3G) prepaid plans are $10 more a month than T-Mobiles (4G) prepaid plans.

:leon: Indeed.

Like I said, I've been planning on leaving Verizon but this is making me reconsider. I like the direction T-Mobile is moving in, but I'm still hesitant about their service/coverage. I'm still leaning towards T-Mobile since they seem to have a strong signal in my area.
U must not use much data
Not at all. Last month I only used about 175MB.

175? Nah..I use like 5-10GB at least. It was even higher than that when I was tethering like crazy.

3g on a CDMA carrier is not what's up.. You claim T-mobile is good where you're at then ditch Verizon

data is the cash cow for these companies. thats why they continue to charge more for less. It will only get worse.

Texting is also a cash cow.

I know AT&T doesn't offer any text plans. You have to get unlimited or pay per text at $0.20 each.

I don't use state computers when I'm on the move and traveling. I check everything with the phone and even when I'm somewhere for like half a day.
