I honestly think the govt. should privatize postal services. The private sector knows how to manage postal services and turn a profit.

I feel you but lets be honest, this specific topic (postal services) is dated. The private sector has perfected the mailing services. The govt. has been running a massive debt for quite some time now trying to operate mailing services. The only way the govt. ran USPS would work now is if, you only run mail on certain days (M-Thurs.), raise stamps to $1.00 per stamp, and raise mailing fees for everything. If thats the case, I (the customer) would rather do business with a FedEx, UPS, etc.

Police departments, fire departments, and public education are the only public sectors I wouldn't mind running a govt. debt for. I do not want privatization of these services. Now that would be scary.

USPS and Amtrak are epic fails. They are necessary services but have been managed improperly. A lot of government agencies have wasteful spending, but USPS and Amtrak are agencies which can't pay their bills.

One of the main issues the Postal Service has is payment into there pension system. Congress refuses to change it because FedEx and UPS wont let them.
